Problems we may encounter!
It's been a long process but have eventually agreed to develop the most recent idea revolving around the child and the closet-shaking monster, already there are issues regarding cast.
We are advised not to use child actors in our student films because of the lengthy, tedious process of finding a young actor and gaining the parents approval. We would also hope that the parents accompany the child during filming (or at least someone older than us who the family know). Adie will be meeting with her drama teacher and one of their young students regarding casting and filming the film soon, until then, we have a few other issues to think about;
Filming in the dark -
Just like my previous project I will once again be filming scenes in the dark, which can prove challenging. Even with a powerful torch only things close to the light were illuminated on the video which made telling the story much more difficult.

Lighting was my number one problem from AS media but i've learnt a lot since encountering so many problems during the first year - torches, although giving very little light, do apply a unique, subtle outline of light to the characters (as shown by the above images). For A2, we may use a floodlight supplied by Adie's dad (who works in archaeology and has access to such lights).
Casting:
Casting has already proved a big problem. Having a child actor complicates things, but being that the child is in no way related to either myself or Adie, we have to arrange our filming dates through the child's parents and drama teacher. This limits the number of days we can film, and also time that we can film. Luckily, with the year drawing to a close, it is already dark around 16:00 PM so we won't need to be filming late to achieve a night-time look.

Refined Treatment
Title -
Audience -
The film has some dark scenes and contains mild elements of threat and terror and would therefore receive a PG or 12A age certificate.
Synopsis -
It is late at night and a young girl named Ivy is hiding in a small room; terrified and trembling. The door is shaking violently. Ivy desperately tries to block out the noise, holding the palms of her hands tightly of her ears; we hear a girls voice, droning, echoing and bouncing around the room. The door bursts open and Ivy jumps up from her bed; she was sleeping, having a terrible nightmare. The next morning she slowly leaves her bedroom, distracted by the recurring nightmares. Lily, Ivy's mother rushes around the kitchen, preparing her daughters lunch for the day ahead at school. She is talking on the phone with a friend, discussing what seems to be the condition of Ivy and her nightmares. Ivy arrives downstairs and her mother says goodbye to her friend and begins to take notice of Ivy. She tries to break the silence with light conversation before asking Ivy if she's still having the nightmares; Ivy remains silent and looks at her mother in sadness. Lily moves slowly to her daughters level before hugging her tightly.
That night, we see Ivy downstairs having a drink of water. All is silent until a creek in the floor grabs her attention, we briefly see a poorly lit figure of a girl before Ivy drops the water and scurries back upstairs, running away. The droning of voices begins as Ivy rushes through the house to the room she previously locked herself in; light beams from the room and illuminates Ivy before she slams the door behind her. The door bangs and shakes violently, but eventually, there is silence. The handle slowly lowers and the door creeks open; but it is only Lily, who comforts Ivy. She tells her she was only dreaming, and that she's safe now, before taking her back to her room, passing another child's room on the way.
The next day at school, Ivy sits silently whilst the other children have already left the classroom. Ivy is still packing up her things. On her way out the teacher glances at Ivy worryingly. On her trip home she stops by a lamppost with a bouquet of flowers tied to it.
The following night, Ivy is again curled in the corner of the room, shining a torch toward the door which continues to shake. A girls voice continues to drone throughout the room and Ivy's patience wears thin. Frustration builds inside her before she finds the courage to scream in confusion - "I don't know what you want, please just leave me alone!". The 'monster' calms and the droning stops before telling Ivy that she loved her, and only wanted to say goodbye to her little sister.
Ivy stands up from the corner of the room and moves over to the door, confidently. She opens the door slowly, only to see that no one is there. Upset, she makes her way downstairs to the dining room and reaches for a framed picture of her family. She removes the photograph from the frame before going back to sleep. The next day on the way to school, she places the picture of the girl with the flowers on the lamppost. Ivy sleeps peacefully that night with a nightlight.

Idea #3
Kid is hiding in a closet, being shaken by an unknown person,
He wakes up early sneaks back to his room. At breakfast his mother asks if he's been having nightmares again, he denies that it is nightmares.
That night the same thing happens and we see someone but only their feet and witness them chasing him until he hides in the closet and they stop abruptly outside. The door rattles and shakes again until everything falls silent. It is silent for a long time until there are three loud knocks on the door. He approaches it carefully yet it only his mother who carries him back to bed. They pass a door that has a girls name on the outside of it.
We see him unable to concentrate at school and as he walks to the gate outside his house he passes a lamppost outside with flowers tied to the side.
Once again that night he is chased downstairs by someone yet this time we see the person and it is a teenage girl, we hear her shout at the closet telling him to open it, he shouts back telling her he is confused and frightened and to leave him alone. This quietens her and the thinks for a while, she address's him properly and says that she is sorry for scaring him so much and that she loves him. She then places her hand on the closet and tells him that she only wanted to say goodbye. He hesitantly stands and places his hand on the other side of the closet door opposite to hers. He opens the door slowly but there is no one there. He rushes to the other rooms but still finds no one. He turns to look on the mantlepeice where there is a picture of the girl. The same picture is stuck to the lamppost outside with the flowers. She was his sister. It ends with the boy sleeping peacefully in his bed with a nightlight, this switches off as the scene turns to black.
