Steadicam practise!

Earlier in the week, myself and Adie got to grips with the college's steadicam.  We did quite a few practise shots including many laps of the fourth floor of college! Only a few turned out marginally well, including the short video above.

We definitely will be using the steadicam for a couple of sequences in the film, otherwise we'll be making good use of the tripods available. I definitely hope to spend more time with the steadicam before filming considering my current amateurish ability with it!

Films such as The Shining and Goodfellas inspired us to use the steadicam. There are notable scenes in each film where a steadicam has been used, The Shining in particular, where Danny rides down the hallways of the hotel. And Goodfellas, where Henry enters the Copacabana through the kitchen.
